Event Description:
Events that bring alot of people to a city drive up the Demand for
Sex for sale. Pimps/Traffickers will be bussing girls-- victims-- into Detroit
Michigan and surrounding areas to meet this demand and make money during
the Detroit Auto Show. The biggest car show in the country
This two week event is expected to bring over 750,000 participants and visitors to Detroit for the show, driving up the demand.
We need your Help to get soap into the motels prior to the event
to save these girls from a horrific life and give them an option out.
Please note: soap is distributed PRIOR to the event so that we can
ensure the soap is IN the room when the girls are coming to town.
9am- Registration
9:30am- Training
A training on Human Trafficking and SOAP will teach you how to
approach motels, talk to their staff on how to identify a potential victim and
signs to look for during the outreach.
11:15- Lunch Provided
12:00- Packaging of Soap (soap will already be labeled thanks to Lexis Nexis)
1:00 pm: Teams will load up with
soap and head out to approach motels and give them the soap!
Teams will then report back to us to go over the results. Should
be finished by 4pm
Please Note: Must be over 18 years of age to do the Motel
Outreach. However, training and packaging is open to middle school and older.
T-Shirts:
We would like volunteers doing the motel outreach to purchase a
tshirt. Orders prior to the event will be guarenteed the correct size. There is
a Limited supply day of event however.
Donations:
This outreach is funded solely on donations from people to buy the
soap and printing costs! Donations to cover the cost of the outreach are
greatly appreciated and can be made online at www.traffickfree.com
or day of the event.
