January (2012) is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

January 9, 2012 – Repeating, Reposting and Sharing:

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

President Barack Obama has designated January as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. A first-of-its-kind initiative, the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Blue Campaign, launched in 2010, coordinates and enhances DHS’ anti-human trafficking efforts. This month, the Department debuted the Human Trafficking General Awareness Training, a 15-minute online training on human trafficking, the indicators of potential trafficking, and how to report it.

Again Repeating, reposting and sharing: We're almost to National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on 1-11-12, which is also our 2nd Annual Unite and Wear White event. We're asking everyone to wear something white to show that we are united to be a light for those trapped in darkness. We have participants from 38 states and 11 countries but we still need a few more states: ID, UT, WY, ND, SD, KS, IA, LA, DE, MA, CT and RI. I think we can make it to all 50 states! Help us spread the word and let's make a difference together! Don't forget to email a pic of you and/or your group wearing white. www.uniteandwearwhite.com

·         On National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we encourage everyone to wear something white to be a light for those trapped in darkness. If your group is wearing white, blue, red or any other color, it doesn't matter...because we will be united to help raise awareness against this vicious crime. This event is being held worldwide!

Last year we had participants from 38 states and 9 countries.
Are you going to make sure your area is represented?
Remember to spread the word...
Please note: This event is being held world-wide, wherever you are on 1-11-12. Just commit to wearing something white (blue or red) on this day to help raise awareness about human trafficking. It's that simple!
